JAMES L. KNIGHT INTERNATIONAL CENTER & BANK OF AMERICA TOWER

Miami, Florida 1984

Miami’s International Center was the first joint venture between a municipality, an educational institution, and a private developer ever undertaken in the United States. This mega-complex includes a 600,000 square foot, I.M. Pei designed, office tower, a 650 room Hyatt Regency Hotel, the University of Miami’s James L. Knight International Center, the City of Miami Conference Center and a 1,500 car parking garage.

On April 6, 1979 the City of Miami graciously recognized Earl Worsham as developer of the year for his contribution in the development of the Miami Center. Mayor Maurice A. Ferre thanked Mr. Worsham for having “extended his deep interest in the well being of Miami’s citizens in helping this community achieve its potential as one of the most dynamic cities in the world”.
